There are certain steps we take to turn an idea into a completed interior designed to support your lifestyle. No matter what style you desire, the following process will result in the transformation of your kitchen and bath. Getting Started Gather a scrapbook of notes, photos, and articles you have collected. Get together with your family and ask them for their input and wish lists. If you would like, print and fill out the Kitchen Planning Guide and/or Bath Planning Guide , and begin to think about your budget. Call us to make an appointment! Initial Consultation A complimentary meeting at your home to talk about your thoughts allows ideas to be formulated. We will review and/or assist you in establishing a budget, discuss your scrapbook of ideas and answer any questions you may have. This is the first chance we have to discuss our ideas for your remodel. Retainer Agreement A detailed proposal outlining scope of services is signed. The project retainer, credited toward your cabinet purchase, is requested to start the design. Detailed Measurements After the proposal is accepted, a follow-up consultation in your home takes place for detailed measurements and evaluation of existing jobsite conditions for a remodel, or to receive and review a set of architectural drawings for a new home. More detailed questions regarding your needs and utilization of the space are discussed. Design Presentation This meeting takes place at the cabinet showroom. As a client of Kalina Kitchen and Bath Design we will "view" your kitchen before the cabinetry is built. High-tech, computer-generated floor plans, elevations and perspectives are of course standard with every kitchen and bath project. We can show you what your design will look like, from the type and color of cabinetry to the color of the countertops, appliances and types of flooring, from several angles of your room. We review what is inside each cabinet to ensure your space is designed to your needs. Shortly after this meeting, we will provide you with your first estimate on the cost of your cabinets. Generally, we will meet once or twice more before we have our master design settled upon. Bid Meeting We meet with the General Contractor at your home to review the details of the project. While we are happy to work with someone you trust, we have qualified installers that we recommend whose craftsmanship meets our high standards. Purchase Agreement The materials for your remodeling project are ordered now. It’s crucial that this step is done in a timely manner, as cabinets normally take 6-8 weeks to be built. Order the other materials related to your project at this time as well. |
